The Ako Modern Side Table is inspired by the 16th-century European voyagers who traveled to Japan. This is known in the Japanese story as the Nanban Trade period under the Sakoku Seclusion Edicts. Portugal was the first country to enter this trade. It is an ode to great inventiveness, ability, and courage. Being more than just a side table, its round hand-painted top slides to reveal a storage space particularly designed to store glasses and a bottle of your favorite beverage.
